Sickness
Made in 2022 while I had Covid, featuring and inspired by the poetry of Japanese poet Ishikawa Takuboku (1886 - 1912). The film was shot by Simona Tanase and the poetry was translated by me.
Light Seasoner
Shot over the course of one quiet shift at the cinema where I work, the film is a tribute to the director Paul Schrader, featuring music and motifs from his work. It stars Joe Stephenson and Ketsia Kutukana.
DJ Stephenson
Another short made on shift at my work, this one a tribute to the films of Japanese director Hideaki Anno, director of Love and Pop and Shin Godzilla. It stars Joe Stephenson, Sachin Rose, Cosmo Reindorf and Hector Leris, with voiceovers by Nanako Honjo and Shohei Okamoto.
